Crashing problems aside, I am loving the App Store.
I have no problem spending money on an app, but there are definitely a
surprising number of quality freebies out there. With that in mind, I
am kind of curious to know how much money iPhone owners have been
willing to drop on apps given all of the free choices.

While some of us at Giz actually have better reception with the iPhone 3G than before, that's not the story raging in Apple's support forums, where few or no bars is the order of the day—and not just in the US, but worldwide, apparently.
For AT&T's part, they're redeploying a bunch of 850MHz spectrum
(which penetrates indoors better) for 3G service through the end of the
year, so it should get a little better, at least. In the meantime,
how's your reception? [Apple]

Question of the Day: Are You More Excited About iPhone Apps or 3G?
The App Store is up and firmware 2.0
has been leaked, so I'm feeling pretty content right now. Sure, 3G is
awesome, but to be honest I was more excited about the App Store than
anything else. So, my question is: Do you feel the same way? Are you
more excited about the App Store or the 3G upgrade?

Would you donate your bricked iPhone for testing?
If you bricked your iPhone with a previous firmware upgrade and you haven't been able to bring it back from limbo, you may be wondering what to do with it. Since it seems that there are people trying to help Dev Team with privileged information to keep Installer.app and the unlocking working with the next update, we were wondering what to do to help the iPhone Dev Team other than donations. Brian came up with a great idea: donate your dead iPhone to them, so they can use them as test units to do weird things to them. So if you have a bricked iPhone, or know anyone who has:

Should I Bring My Email-Capable Phone On Vacation?
I'm
going on vacation tomorrow, for a week. Hawaii. I don't know if I find
the idea of news dropping while I'm away very relaxing. Should I bring
my cellphone with me to check email? BTW, see you all in a few days.
No. It's called vacation, and you're supposed to be away from work. |
Yes. If not having connectivity is going to make you FREAK OUT more than having it, you might as well. |
Dude, you need a rum-based drink from a pineapple with an umbrella out the top. |
